George Steed, age 19, had graduated from the York County School of Technology and had landed a job as a junior craftsman in the maintenance department at York Hospital. He was riding south on Roosevelt Avenue when his bike and a car collided at the intersection with Greenbriar Road, police said.
His mother, Ida Steed, said George enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He assisted with the children’s ministry at Stillmeadow Church of the Nazarene, where the family attends.
There are three white crosses of varying sizes with flowers in the grass of the intersection.
